#End SARS protest: Rep Nnaji praises Gov. Ugwuanyi’s aporoach

The lawmaker representing Nkanu East/West Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Nnolim Nnaji has commended the executive Governor of Enugu State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his usual characteristic way of addressing crisis in the state.
He acknowledged that the Governor’s prosctiveness in handling the #EndSARS protests in the state was commendable adding that the steps taken by the state government helped to ensure that things did not go out of control.
According to him, “from day one, the Governor never ignored the protesters. He first sent his Deputy Governor and subsequently went ahead to meet them twice and listened to their grievances”.
“The Governor did not stop there he went ahead to set up judiciary panel of inquiry to investigate all cases of abuse by the police in Enugu State with a view to bringing the culprits to book”. Honourable Nnaji further added.
The lawmaker also praised the Governor for imposing a twenty–four -hour Curfew in the state on Wednesday stressing that the action was necessary to prevent the escalation of violence following the infiltration of the protests by hoodlums.
Rep Nnaji urged the citizens to continue to cooperate and support the Governor so that the peace that has been in place since Ugwuanyi assumed office will continue to abide.
” We need peace in the state to continue to achieve meaningful developments. Without peace no society nor community can make progress so let us continue to support Governor Ugwuanyi’s peace initiatives to sustain the progress we have so far made developmentally”. Nnaji added.
He equally apealed to the youths to withdraw from the streets and give government the opportunity to begin to address their demands both at the states and the federal level assuring them that the leaderships and members of the National Assembly are equally behind them in the struggle for good governance.
