APGA faction decamps to PDP, in Abia
The Chief Reagan Ufomba faction of All Progres-sives Grand Alliance, (APGA) in Abia State has dumped the party for the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
At the reception rally at Ntigha mini Stadium in Isialangwa North LGA of the state yesterday, Ufomba, who was a factional governorship candidate of the party in 2015 left APGA with the 24 executives of the party, 184 ward executives, alongside others saying that only the PDP can better the lots of Abia State and Nigeria.
Ufomba came along with the party’ s membership register saying, “ any other existing APGA in the state was fake “If there is any other APGA existing in Abia after today, that APGA is fake”.
The former governorship candidate stressed that he was a foundation member of the PDP, and that he left the party in 2010, but has returned to the party he built.
He commended Governor Ikpeazu and described him as the choice of the people and a good man who must be given all the support he needed.
He said his decision to return to PDP was hinged on his desire to bring his ideas to the table in a bid to achieve the Abia of everyone’s dream.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, while officially welcoming them said that every good idea was welcomed by his administration.
“I must commend my brother, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba for this bold step. PDP is a large party and it will accommodate all of us. Nobody will discriminate against you in PDP. In PDP we love each and we see our party like a church. So I must urge you to be up and doing in the party.”
The Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Chief Ginger Onwusibe in his opening speech expressed delight that the former gubernatorial candidate was returning to a house he built, describing him as a very big fish.
Also speaking, the state Chairman of PDP, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, said the PDP welcomed all of them to the party and assured that the party would not discriminate against them.
