Commotion at Wadata House as APC youths confront Atiku supporters
There was an outbreak of violence at the Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) secretariat, Wuse, Abuja as All Progressive Congress, (APC) youths confronted supporters of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who had accompanied to the party Head Quarters to submit his nomination form for 2019 presidential election.
Although details of the root cause of the chaos were sketchy as at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that a group of youths carrying the flags of the All Progressives Congress (APC) blocked Atiku supporters.
This resulted in fracas as stones and other dangerous weapons were freely used by the rampaging youths.
It took the overwhelmed security men comprising of police and the Civil Defence hectic time to bring the situation under control.
As the youths threw stones and other dangerous items in several directions, the overwhelmed security personnel stationed at the main gate to Wadata Plaza were left with no option but to open the gate for some of the supporters of PDP to rush in for safety.
.The stampede into the premises of the party saw so many of the Atiku supporters sustaining various degrees of injuries eye witness disclosed.
Though security men later made their way to the troubled area and succeeded in restoring normalcy after firing multiple gunshots to disperse the crowd no arrests have been made so far..
