Dauda Alaya, Senior Legislative Aide among Buhari’s board appointees
Dauda A. Alaya, a Senior Legislative Aide attached to Rt Honourable Dauda Jika, the Chairman Committee on Police Affairs has been appointed into the board of National Centre for Agriculture Mechanisation, (NACAM) by the Buhari administration.
Mr Alaya was first engaged in parliamentary activities of the 7th Assembly as Senior Legislative Aide with former Chairman House Committee on Justice, Dr Ahmed Ali who is now the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly. Dr Ali within his four years in the National Assembly had thirty four bills credited to his portfolio, and twenty two concurred with and twenty four Public Hearing conducted by his committee within four years.
He provided technical and policy advice to his principal on committees’ works which covered Environment, Federal Character, Judiciary, Electoral Matters, Privatisation, House Services, Rules and Business during which he worked extensively on bills drafting, reports on constituency outreach, Budget Analysis and constituency projects execution.
Prior to this national assignment he worked as research Partner with Almus consulting, Ilorin a Research and Development consultant with UNDP as Strategic Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Evaluation officer.
A onetime Lecturer in Department of Economics College of Education, Ilorin, he also had a stint with former Savannah Bank Nig Plc now Liquidated.
Dauda A Alaya holds a Postgraduate degree in Economics Development in Emerging Markets with special interest in Investment strategy of Multinational corporations and Strategy policy development from the University of Reading United Kingdom.
He is currently on the verge of obtaining another post graduate degree in legislative drafting from the Nigerian Institute for Legislative Studies, (NILS), Abuja in affiliation with the University of Benin.
He has undergone Intensive training programme with FitchRating UK, and postgraduate internship study visit to European Bank for Reconstruction and Development London, Shell Petroleum, UK.
He pursued further interest in e-planning Knowledge west Bristol, UK. His global portfolios and working exposure includes United Kingdom with Reading University, Seoul, South Korea, with World Bank/KDI, and Washington DC with World Bank/KDI.
