Andy Uba disowns sms soliciting financial assistance as more group declares for him
A group, Progressives Friends Forum, (PFF), has described Senator Andy Uba as the most qualified candidate for tomorrow’s gubernatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Anambra State.
The Director-General of the group, Chief Ifeanyi Oramah, said in a statement, that “after an appraisal of all the aspirants cleared for the primaries by the APC, it found Uba, who is representing Anambra South in the Senate, as the most suitable for the job.”
Oramah added that the group further found that apart from capacity, experience and means, Uba was than determined and prepared for the position than all the aspirants, having occupied the post before and served meritoriously in many other sensitive and strategic offices.
He appealed to the delegates to shun any entreaty of money or any primordial sentiments and vote based on merit in the interest of the party and the progress of the state.
The PFF, also urged security agencies to give adequate protection to the delegates during the conduct of the primaries in their homes and in places where they may be prior to the election.
Meanwhile,the leading APC aspiant has appealed to friends and supporters to disregard the alleged sms puroported to be emanating from him soliciting for financial assistance.
Senator Uba who sent disclaimer through through whatsapp and other media platforms noted that the alleged message was the handiwork of his opponents who were employing all types of subtle blackmails to discredit him.
He said that what he desired most from friends and well wishers were prayers and moral supports in tomorrow’s primaries.
Said he, “their plot is to stop me from saving my people (Anambra people) but they will not succeed. Please don’t be decieved, together we shall make Anambra great again.”
