Confusion in NASS as hoodlums break into Senate Chambers seize mace
Dr Bukola Saraki, Senate President
The National is totally locked down following the seizure of the Senate’s symbol of authority, The Mace by some hoodlums allegedly brought in by the suspended member, Senator Omo-Agege from Delta State.
The Senator had entered the Chambers pretending to say something to the Senate President before one of his men grabbed the mace ran out while others in suite guarded him.
The bewildered members watched helplessly as the intruders ran out of the red chambers unhindered.
Meanwhile the Senate have entered executive session while all the exits of the National Assembly have been condoned off to apparently to prevent the hoodlums from escaping.
The security at the entire National Assembly has also been beefed up with security personnel deployed.
