Sack fear grips Ministers as Buhari prepares to re-jig cabinet
The news of imminent shake-up in the Federal cabinet between now and October first has sent jittery into the spines of the Minister as many of them believe they will be eased out.
Sources close to the Presidency reliably indicated that the lists of likely appointees are already being compiled and that the dissolution of the current cabinet would be done on or before the October 1, 2017.
Similarly, a lot of Ministerial Departments and Agencies, (MDAs) heads according to the information available to the Newsjet would be equally affected in the coming changes which would be the first major one since the present regime came on board.
It was also gathered that a new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF) and the head of the National Intelligence Agency, (NIA) would equally be named soon as the Presidency has made up its mind on the sack of the former SGF who has been on compulsory leave since the grass cutting saga.
Our sources also revealed that the committee which investigated the former SGF and the NIA Director-General recommended that new head of the NIA should come from with the service and on the basis of hierarchy.
Consequently barring any last minute changes the new NIA boss would be from among the most senior directors not indicted by the committee headed by the Vice President yemi Osibanjo.
The changes have long been advocated as most of the Ministers had exhibited absolute lack of tact and understanding of the President’s vision and his determination to fight corruption and reposition the nation economically.
It is also a well known fact that most of the heads of the MDAs were the appointees of the former government inherited by Buhari which many have cited as a proof that the APC was not prepared for true governance but just to grab power.
