Skoto Governor regrets leaving PDP for APC
——- accuses Abuja “cabals” of undermining him
The Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Aminu Wasiri Tambuwal has expressed his regret for dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) over what he described as retrogressive and undemocratic nature of the party.
He lamented that ever since the party came to power, hardly had a day passed without one drama or the other from the government at the centre.
He said governance has been reduced to ridicule with APC at the centre noting that, “ instead for the party to provide dividend of democracy to the electorates and Nigerian in general, all what the people have be witnessing is not short of drama and tyranny.”
He was quoted by an on-line publication, The WailersNG as saying “I am beginning to regret joining APC. Even as a governor, I knew nothing about who gets Federal Appointment in my State, I am seemingly sidelined by Abuja politicians (Cabals)”
Governor Tambuwal was the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015. He was elected into the Federal Legislature on the platform of the then ruling People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) from Sokoto State.
He defected to APC in late 2014 and contested for the Governorship seat of Sokoto State and won.
